Typical Awards
In personal injury claims, it is difficult to give an indication of the value of the claim until medical evidence is obtained. This is because the value of the injury depends on the severity of the injury, how long the symptoms went on for and the prognosis for the future.
As a broad indication, the following are typical examples of the value of an injury:
Whiplash £2,000 - £10,000
Broken arm/leg £4,000 - £20,000
Broken finger £2,000 - £10,000
Broken hip £5,000 - £20,000
Shoulder £2,000 - £7,000
Wrist £2,000 - £7,000
Nose £1,000 - £2,500
However, please bear in mind that in addition to compensation for the pain and symptoms associated with the injury itself, there is additional compensation for any consequential financial losses such as loss of earnings, damage to property, any care you have received and other services that have been provided by other members of your family, such as gardening or housework etc.
